Sheath Knife- Jorvik 9th-11thC

An accurate replica of knife 2973 from the Coppergate excavations of Jorvik-Viking York, this sheath knifeis typical of early medieval knives in all but one aspect- it is one of the few that feautres decorative notches on its spine. Why the notches? Who knows, but it sure looks cool. The blade is hand-forged using the traditional san-mai technique, featuring steel sandwiched in iron for optimal strength and durability. This functional and historically accurate piece is completed with a beautifully simple boxwood and cow horn handle, ensuring an authentic touch. Offering both utility and historical integritythis knife serves as a testament to our commitment to accurate replica production.
