Ulu- Small
Rooted in traditional Arctic knife design, the Ulu is a distinctive and highly versatile tool with a curved blade designed for a rocking cutting action. Often associated with chopping herbs or slicing pizza in a modern kitchen, its uses extend far beyond the chopping board.
This smaller version retains the traditional blade profile, replicated from an original example held in the British Museum, but pairs it with stabilised wood handles for a more contemporary feel. The result is a versatile knife that bridges the gap between traditional outdoor use and modern kitchen preparation.
The AEB-L stainless steel blade is well suited to chopping, slicing and general food preparation, with a curved edge that allows ingredients to be cut using a controlled rocking motion. Away from the kitchen, the compact design also makes it a useful companion for bushcraft, skinning and butchery.
The stabilised wood handles offer a practical alternative to more traditional handle materials, making them particularly well suited to regular use around food and during field dressing. Their distinctive grain also brings an individual character to each knife, combining functional design with the natural variation of wood.
Compact, adaptable and easy to handle, this Ulu is designed for those who want the versatility of a traditional curved blade in a format suited to both the kitchen and the outdoors.
